Twitter-like platform built in PHP/MySQL with MVC architecture, authentication, and essential social features.
Role
Worked in a 3-person team on backend features, social interactions, and application structure.
Deliverables
- • PHP MVC architecture
- • MySQL data layer
- • Authentication and sessions
- • Posting, likes, and follow features
- • Team delivery under a short timeline
Results
- • Stronger backend fundamentals
- • Better technical coordination in a small team
- • Improved understanding of traditional dynamic web app structure

Overview
This project reproduces the main mechanics of a Twitter-like social platform using a PHP/MySQL architecture. It was built as a 3-person team project and helped me strengthen backend fundamentals under time constraints.
Context
The goal was to implement a coherent application base with authentication, profiles, posting, and simple user interactions. The real challenge was not just functionality, but also organizing the work and keeping the structure workable in a collaborative environment.
What I built
- Authentication and session handling.
- Posting flow and core social interactions.
- User profiles and follow logic.
- Team delivery around an MVC application structure.
Technical choices
The project is based on a PHP MVC architecture with MySQL persistence. Even though the stack is more traditional, it remains very useful for learning backend fundamentals, data modelling, and server-side application logic.
Results & Progression
This project reinforced my backend foundations and my ability to collaborate technically under time pressure. It helped me better understand how to structure a dynamic application, split responsibilities, and deliver as a small team.
What this project demonstrates
Twitter Clone shows clear progression on server-side web development fundamentals, MVC structuring, and team coordination. It proves that the underlying foundations are solid, even on an older stack.
